calcified granuloma

calcified granuloma

my mom had an X-ray few weeks ago and had the following findings:nodular density is seen in the left upper lobe.Heart is enlarged with LV prominence.Aorta is unremarkable.Hemidiaphragms, costophrenic sulci and the visualized bones are intact. With an impression: Calcific Granuloma, left upper lobe. LV Slight Cardiomegaly....What does it mean?Is it cancerous or can be cured with some medications or needs to undergo an operation?..Thanks and God bless.

Calcified granuloma isn't cancer-- it was the body's response to isolate an infection.   It typically doesn't change (disappear or get worse)  it is basically just scar tissue.   Serial x-ray may be indicated if they want to make sure.   If not change, which is likely, then no problems.
