calcium channel bocker Diltiazem side effects

My doctor put me on Diltiazem 24 hr. ER 180 mg. It seems that the chest pains are less frequent, but I still get the tight in the chest and breathing issues I had on the beta blocker. Do calcium channel blockers cause lung thightness?  My BP was still around 130/90 2 weeks into the Diltiazem. We are checking again when I finish the bottle. Meanwhile, lots of aches and flue like sypmtoms. I always feel sick and tired. I sleep 9 hours a night, but wake up with anxiety attacks around midnight. I think I want to try Cozar again. The only reason doc wants Calcium channel blocker is due to a mild MVP. Cozar kept my BP nice and low, even when I lived in high altitude and smoked (I don't smoke anymore). Plus the Cozar had very few side effects and hardly any other drug interactions.

Calcium channel blockers aren't necessarily indicated in pts with MVP.  It's a medicine that I don't use much for patients with HTN unless they have some type of atrial arrhythmia or are allergic to beta blockers (such as yourself), although it would never be my first pick.   I think that you should go back on the Cozaar because it worked well in the past and the side effects were few.

I'm on 27 days of Diltriazam and some wierd side effects are still there. I'm getting use to the uncomfortable gas and am keeping the constipation at bay with Miralax. I have had many headaches and lots of wierd tired spells. Will Cozar help with the chest pains from the MVP?
