can't seem to recover my energy

can't seem to recover my energy

I had three myocardial infarctions:  2004, 2006, and 2009.  I ended up with 9 stents in my LAD; in December 2009, (I was 43 years old) I had bypass surgery.  I was told that the rest of my heart was "pristine"; I did pretty good/average on stress tests; my cholesterol levels were "perfect";
I did not smoke, not overweight, fairly active person my whole life.
Had mom who had heart attack at age 40.

It's been one year now post bypass.  My energy level is so low, I can barely get out of bed in the morning.
I am taking an anti-depressant and have been for several years.
My muscles feel weak.  I was told that my CPK number was abnormal so they cut my lipitor in half.  (I don't have high cholesterol, I'm taking lipitor, atenonlol for prevention.)
I started to feel better initially but just can barely push myself through the day.  I do walk, meditate, etc..
and I work fulltime.
But this is all I have energy for.  My scar still hurts, and sternum bothers me.
I had a goal to run a 5 k this month, and began training, but was unaable to make any progress.

My doctor has told me to just "live my life" and not worry about it.  I feel like the past few years aged me so much.  I feel old, weary, and the heart attacks, stress, etc.. thrust me into total menopause, too.  I haven't menstruated in 16 months; I still have hot flashes; no sex drive,

No doctor I've gone to seems the least bit concerned with the quality of my life.  I look fine outwardly.  I know I am a bit dysthymic, (sp.), but it feels physical.
Do people recover from bypass fully?  I also can't remember anything, where I parked my car?, my keys, etc..
Is memory loss a symptom of menopause, bypass or both.
I was hopeful after the surgery and recovery; but now I feel worse than I ever have.
Hormones say that I have menopausal levels; dr.'s say can't take hormones; unconcerned with my being uncomfortable.
Please help me find something to get my energy back.
I just want some relief, to feel rested, energetic, able to make some progress with getting back into shape.  I don't want to go to another dr. My cardiologist, my gyno. both say "don't worry about anything".
so patronizing.
any suggestions?  diet? accupuncture? herbs? anything???

OMG i am so sorry that you are going thru all of this but i understand completely about the menopause thing for sure.  I hit full menopause at 40 and had my last period at 41 i am now 56 and its no walk in the park believe me you.  I had to laugh when you said you forgot where you parked your car, put your keys, etc. because about 3 weeks ago i got up to make my coffee ...went to the fridge to get the milk and my dishwashing soap was sitting on the center shelf of my fridge....my first thought was alzeihiemers but i called one of my sisters (i have 5 of them and 3 others also work in hospitals) and she started laughing at me...she told me your story basically....she said the worst day for her was when she went to put on her uniform...got to her floor at the hospital and everyone started laughing at her...she had two totally different shoes on....i give up twylat....if it isn't something its another...so we are all in the same boat as women i guess.  I can';t answer for the bypass situ because i have never had one but i do definately know that in menopause that it is a total nitemare...totally interrupted sleep thru out the nite, hot flashes from hades to the point we sleep w. a fan on our faces every nite, the being happy and nice one moment and the next like we are Jason from Nightmare on Elm Street, and the fatigue and exhaustion is unbelievable.  I can only tell you what has worked for me personally w. the meno but do not even think about it until your heart doc okays it all right....for the interrupted sleep my heart doc suggested a vitamin type of pill called NightRest by Source Natural...he said he takes it and its great...did it now get a full nite of sleep each nite...but again make sure its okay w. your doc....i made sure that i didn't eat anything after 9 at nite to give my digestive tract the best chance possible of staying calm...def. no caffeine or colored sodas and no no red wine......for some reason the nightrest balanced my body and when i wake up in the morning i am now full of energy and feel totally alert and pretty peppy and no longer am tired.....if the docs do not feel its heart related and your OBGYN feels it menopause related...well all i gotta say is welcome to our world the world of women....just make sure that it is confirmed by your heart doc that they feel this is not an issue with your prior history and for all of our sakes check your shoes in the morning my friend...hope this was helpful and i feel you bellieve me....
