cardiac catherterization procedure for wolff parkinson white syndrome for 12 year ols girl

my daugther has an illnes called wpw. she's 12 years old and were planning to undergo her for a cardiac catheterization. my question is how was the catheterization procedure last and how they do the procedure?. how many hours a catheterization last?. please help us!.. thank you.

It sounds like they will be doing an EP study and an ablation to correct the rhythm problem. As for how long it lasts, that depends on how long it takes them to find the exact problem spot and ablate it. After they do that, they will test the heart again to see if they can trigger the arrhythmia. If they can't, then they feel pretty confident her problem is fixed.

I've had 3 EP studies and ablations to fix my rhythm problems. The longest one took 7 hours, the shortest one took 3 hours. So you can see it varies.

If you haven't posted your question on the rhythm board yet, I would recommend doing that. There are many people there that have dealt with WPW syndrome as well as had ablations. They can share their experiences.
