cardiac sarcoidosis

by Jillejam, Sep 12, 2007 03:38PM
I have recently been diagnosed with cardiac sarcoidosis, I had 8 biopsies done and they all showed granulomas.  I have been started on heavy doses of prednisone today.  I also have an ICD and take Sotalol 80 mg twice a day, coreg 12.5 twice a day, vasotec 5mg twice a day, potassium, lasik.  Could you tell me in your opinion what you think of these med choices for this disease.  I also have an enlarged right ventricle with ef of 40% that was at 15% in July.  What is the prognosis of this disease?  Also, I am a 37 year old female who had her first cardiac episode in July.  I had VT of 220 and needed to be cardioverted 3 times to get a sinus rhythm.  I have been on a rollercoaster ever since this occurred.  The doctors first believed me to have ARVD but now it is definitely cardiac sarcoidosis after the biopsies.  Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
