cardiolyte stress test

cardiolyte stress test

My husband had a heart attack four years ago and received a stent.  We moved within the past year and he is now seeing a new physician who has ordered a cardiolyte stress test.  My husband is not having any problems and his new physician states that this is normal procedure two or three years post attack.  Why is this test necessary and what information will the results provide?

Some doctors perform routine follow-up stress tests after heart attacks, stents or bypass surgery. This allows the doctor to know if there might be a  blood flow problem with the heart that has not started to cause any symptoms yet.
