cardiomyopathy

my doctor said I had dialated cardiomyopathy and he then told me if it got down too 30%i would have too have a heart transplant but he said it was nothing too worrie about I have had a heart cath done and echos and they give us different ef im not understanding why I don't know who too beleave anymore I went too talk too my doctor and he just told me about his wife and how she had erouse heart problems this mad me feel like he was focused on his wife and not me and I felt like he was minimizing my health issues i don't know i am almost afraid too go back too any doctor

Did they do a biopsy? Or more test to look where the problem comes from?

Is your doc a Cardiologist?  I would have certainly a different doc interpret your tests.  I'm assuming the first test was a stress test, and that isn't as exact as an Echo or an angiogram, in my non-professional opinion.  Normal is 50-70%  You deserve another opinion to put your situation in the correct context.
That said, you can raise your EF with diet, exercise and drugs, it isn't a static diagnosis.  Keep us informed.

You did not say what your actual EF% is, but it is true that different tests can show different results e.g. in my case an Echo said 50% and a Thallium scan showed 70%. That's what I went with, but hen I don't worry about these things too much, it is what it is.
