carotid artery subclavian artery bypass

carotid artery subclavian artery bypass

I am a 55 year old female who just had a left carotid artery to subclavian artery bypass. Subclavian artery was blocked at 97% with subclavian steal. My questions are: I am still very tender and sore in upper left chest, shoulder and throat/neck. I have had headaches and some dizziness and very low blood pressure-87/55. How long will the tenderness continue and are there possibilities for rejection of the dacron graft, etc.? Is there a weight limit I shoud adhere to for lifteime? I was very active prior to surgery and just haven't bounced back like I think I should have.

These are all very good questions and should be primarily addressed by your vascular surgeon who performed your procedure. Recovery time, post-operative complications, and routine care are all items that vary from patient to patient and should be communicated clearly to you by your doctor.
