ccb/b.p meds - and excersize

Question Please :
I have taken meny b.p meds over the years - I found that trying to excersize daily ,if at a fast rate causes problems
such as rapid heart beats- out of breath when on a ccb -  tired feeling - and aches.  I use to walk daily 4miles - and
kept active !  since on the meds (back when) iv become a bit overwaight - though im not eatting as much, and still walk 2miles per day (as its all I can take )  when on the medications.   I have good days and bad days - however most
are bad days !  due to side effect problems and trying to be normal ( ah I forgot what normal is , as iv been a zombie)
since on the meds.
I understand most if not all b.p meds slow the heart rate down -  if the heart rate is slowed down by medications , why push yourself - in walking or jogging or whatever ? as surely the heart rate would go faster - thus wouldnt a interaction
happen ?  where the heart wants to beat faster , but the medications slow it down .. thus cause a problem ?
reason is.. I started to run 1 mile per day for about 1 day  ha ha ..  I got winded out and had to stop for heavy breathing
never had this before !   once I was rested (took about 2mins or maybe 4 mins )  I was fine , but had to walk , and couldnt run fast -  this to  me clearly shows , that meds do cause problems.. and maybe doctors shouldnt tell folks to
go out and work out , or run laps..  as they did before..  once on the meds.. you can not do what you did before.

am I right or wrong here ??  cant get a Doctor to ansure me on this one !
by the way iv had every heart test known to mankind .. just got high blood pressure problems.  and allergic problems
to most medications..  ugg .. always something !

Yeah, it would seem there would be an alternative to having blurry vision and assorted other side effects.  Good luck with the new doctor!!  Let us know how it works out.

Thank you for the reply back :

Im not limited to taking a ccb -   the Doctor I have now, I feel is another youngMan
skilled but follows routine rules.  so No he wouldnt condsider a medication other than the ccb  for now.. or the dieretic im on also  maxzide !

its funny I was on Toprol xl  200mg for 6.5 years - and Diovan 20mg - I was Living in Hell
on these meds - blurred  vision and you name it !
I switched Doctors - to get off the Toprol and Diovan.   but this guy just put me back on
medication I was on before , and had meny problems with ..  he insisted I try it again
So anything was better , than suffering on Toprol or Diovan .. so I did it..

well its like going backwords -   same old stuff happens again and again ! over and over !
He tryed me on Coreg Cr ..  no luck !  worse on that stuff .. real bad !!!

Im gonna try a New Doctor this Tuseday or Friday -  she comes recomended by a good
friend who is Natural Doctor ..  shes a M.D. Doctor -  and said she will help me out
and work with me to find something better to take ..

We will see what happens ?

Anyways thank you again for your help..

I'm not sure this is exactly in reference to what you're asking.  But, when I was on beta blockers (for palpitations), I had a stress test.  My report says I had a blunted HR because of medication.  I was able to complete the test, exercise as I would normally exercise, but my HR would not increase past 110 or 120.  I remember being told that the BB was doing its job..keeping my HR down

Now, I'm on an ACEI and now when I have a stress test, my HR increases as you would expect (180's).

Are you limited to taking CCB's for the HTN?  Just wondering if the doctor would consider a medication that would not result in you feeling so tired.  He/she probably wants to keep your HR down, but maybe there is something you could take that would allow you to get back to your normal exercise routine.
