A normal resting rate is anywhere from 60 - 100 bpm. I have been told that dr.s don't like to see it as high as 85 and such, but the younger you are the more they accept it as normal.  I think if you're uncomfortable, about anything, you should talk with your dr.  Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.  :o)

I consider myself in pretty good shape. I am 29 average wieght female. I work out 3 to 5 times a week (kickboxing) for an hour. Since I had my daughter (had moderate toximia)in July 1998 I have had an elavated heart rate. When Resting it is commonly 100 sometimes 80. Before I had my baby it was 60. I do not have high blood pressure. Should I be concerned with this heart rate rate level? Sometimes I have chest pains, however I assume it is from working out and having larger breasts). Am I rationalizing?

I was in a car accident on april 1st. I believe I was wearing my seat belt. Felt no pain and requested not to be taken in for a review. I felt find. Now after three days my center chest has not allow me to turn left or right in bed. The Pain is unbarable. Feel fine upright, coughing is very painful.
Breathing O.k. No intrusion of bone outside of flesh just lumpy rib that appears out place.

Could I have a Musculoskeltal Sprain and if so what my course of treatment?

Hi all .. Di i went through the same thing from a motorcycle accident .. and im not a very emotional nor stressed person .. I still have the pains in my chest 3 years later no one has really come up with a better exscuse for it other then chest wall inflamation .. and it seems to keep changing never getting better .. let me tell you the anxiety over it does get better the longer you live with it though..when it first begun i thought i was gonna die .. the only difference is the pain with me never actually goes away :< but generally after you ve had it for awhile i think your body and mind get use to the fact that its there and put you at ease with the old .. it hasnt killed you yet and you ve had it for how long :)..
this started for me when i was 26 and im now 29 and nothing has changed except my attitude about it .. although there are times when its worse and i still think im lookin at being counted out .. but for some reason i always wake up in the morning:)
it'll get better..
Best of luck to you in the furture

Two years ago I swung on monkey bars at the park after giving birth to my 3rd child.  Three days later I woke my husband with severe chest pains.  I could not breathe.  Eased but my morning, I was gasping, sweating, heart racing.  Called 911; had ekg, chest x-ray, blood work.  All fine except very elevated white blood count.  Sent me home.  Took alot of tests (barium swallow), vast blood workups.  Started physio and chiropractic as the stress of all this caused umpteen symptoms.  Diagnoses as "costocondritis".  I am still an anxious person now and because of free floating anxiety will experience pulse rates of 80 - 100 all throughout the day.  Lifting my children still triggers chest pain, but usually only get it when I relax.  Muscle injuries in this area are extremely stressful as you always wonder in the back of your mind if they missed something.  I am only 31 and still sometimes wonder if I have a heart condition.

Musculoskeletal sprain is a "pulled muscle".  It is not uncommon to get this type of pain in the chest muscles and ribs.

It is unlikely that this is due to your heart.   There are many different things that can cause chest pain and musculoskeletal is one of them.  Given your level of concern you may need to seek counseling for emotional support in dealing with your pain.  God bless.  Hope you feel better.
