chest pain..angina? Someone PLEASE answer

I posted last week-48 yr old female with a burning pain in my chest 3 weeks after having the H1N1...I saw my regular Dr..she did EKG and chest xray. EKG was perfectly normal as was the chest xray-she said Pleurisy and told me to take Ibuprofin.
That was on 12/21. Its now 12/27 and I am still having the burning pain--ive narrowed it down now I know when it happens--its when I am active--moreso when I first become active after a period of inactivity. Example...waking up in the mornng..get out of bed walk to a different room and here comes the burning, aching. It lasts for a few minutes-or until I sit down. Or..watching tv for a few hours...get up...and NOT ALWAYS...but sometimes...it will come back then. Or..walk from my house outside to the garage..but not all the time.
I dont know if I think this is truly Pluerisy???? She told me she has ruled out heart trouble...but could this be Angina???????

Make an appt. with a cardiologist and get evaluated as to whether or not this is heart related.

I've had pleurisy and yours sounds a bit different. With pleurisy it hurts like the dickens if you take in a good sized breath. The inflating lungs cause some rubbing in there that hurts.

Do you notice any change in heart rhythm when you have this pain? Other than a slight increase from activity. A cardiologist might recommend wearing a monitor for a period of time so they can record what's going on while you're having the pain. Doing an EKG in the office while you're fine won't show much.

Well, I was concerned...so...went to the hospital..spent 3 hours in ER...had full cardiac workup...and am told everything cardiac in me is fine. Diagnosis: Pleurisy!
I still wonder about that...everything Ive read tells me differently...Ireneo..what you describe is NOT what Im feeling...but they said there are no cardiac issues.
So..Im on Naproxsyn for 10 days...to reduce inflammation...and then if I still have it..I will contact a cardiologist just to make myself feel better!

Take a look at my journal here at 'joanincarolina'. You sound like some of the problems that I have experienced which were very difficult to diagnose. Consider the cardiac microvasculature given your complaints of chest 'burn' (how well I know that!) especially when you state it is with activity. Let me know what you think and I'll answer your questions. There are varying degrees to this microvascular issue and I would encourage you to not dismiss your signs. Joan.
