i'm 48 years old and smoke, i have Hashimoto Disease and am on medications. My question is for a few weeks now i've experienced chest pains that radiate to my middle of back between shoulders shoulders intensive treatment Shoulder arthroscopy Shoulder pain. i have no other symptoms and need to know if this is caused by my GERD or if its something totally different and what shall i do about it?
Go get it checked out, it's not worth taking a chance. I also have GERD and asked my cardiologist how I would know the difference between pain from GERD and pain from my heart and her exact words were "you can't, I can, so come see me". Symptoms of a heart attack like chest pain can start several weeks prior to the actual event. I would make an appointment to get it checked out very soon or go to the ER next time you feel it. They can tell you quickly what's going on and don't be afraid of embarassment, it's better to know than let something get missed.
Good Luck,
Tony
