chest tightness

My 16 year old daughter was rushed to the hospital with shortness of breath, heaviness in her chest, numbness in her left arm that was cold and clamy, cold sweat and racing heartbeat.  They took EKG, chest xray, blood work all were normal.  Breathing treatment didnt help.  Finally gave her a seditave to calm her down and she fell asleep and sent her home.  I am taking her to her dr today.  Anyone every experiance this?

I'm wondering how much was from the allergic reaction and how much was from the panic. Of course she's going to panic if she can't breathe. Did you figure out what caused the reaction? She'll want to stay away from it from now on. Glad she's feeling better today.

The doctor said it was a panic attack triggered by an allergic reaction.  Her throat felt tight and caused her breath to be short which caused panic to set in.  I have never heard of a panic attact to be so severe.  He said it was very common.  Any one else heard of this?

Nope, never had anything that extreme. Even with my asthma and at my worst (peak flow down to 190) I didn't feel that bad. I guess some of those tests checked for lung clots? I hope you get some answers today. Don't want to go through that again. If you can, let us know how it went today.
