My Chest xray report
have a chest xray report. It says
There is cardiomegaly with left ventricular prominence and CT ratio 16/27. There is pulmonary vascular prominence. No focal consolidation or Pleural effusions are noted. Mild
Degenerative changes are seen in thoracic spine.
Impression : Cardiomegaly and Pulmonary vascular prominence.
Echo - I can only understand these parts -
M-Mode - Normal M-Mode measurements
2-d Normal valve apcs
   - Normal lvf ( EF=75 )
Derived ventricular values - M-Mode
                    cubed    TeichholZ
lv volume diastole  157.5ml   141.3ml
lv volume systole    27.0ml   35.0 ml
stroke volume       130.5ml   106.3 ml
ejection frac       83%       75%
Could the xray show my heart is enlarged and Dr says that my echo does not show enlargement. Is this possible. What does vascular mean??
Thanks for your help.

Dear nmum
The echo is a much more sensitive and definitive test for heart enlargement than an xray; that is the test I would believe. Vascular just refers to the blood vessels from the heart.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
