chronic chest pain

chronic chest pain

Dear all,

I am writing in hopes for an answer or direction.  Since last November I have experienced on and off again chest pain, sometimes it tight, sometimes it is aching other times it involves the muscles near the arm pit, sometimes you can press down and reporduce the pain other times it feels as if it is under the rib and not above it.  the pain is usually on the right and my upper arm aches from time to time.  sometimes i am woken up in the middle of the night by the pain and i cant seem to sleep on my side anymore.  i usually do not feel pain when i am exercising.  however during my wedding a few weeks ago, i was dancing and had a huge main that went from my upper right chest down into my breast which was resolved when i took a rest.

I have had a few test and all came back normal.  Well sort of, one doctor gave me and electocardigram and said i had a pfo with right to left shunting and to take an asprin a day.  another ordered a tee and said i was normal and to go have babies and be happy

i guess my questions are

1.  what can i do to figure out what is causing this pain?

2.  could i have a blocked artery?

3.  should i believe the tee over the echocardiogram results?

thank you for all your time, help and support.

I have had similar experiences in the past, but it proved to be musculoskeletal.  Chiropractic care & massage therapy work wonders.

Thanks for your comment.  I have seen three cardiologists with varying recommendations or takes but I guess I will just have to wait and see.   I am going to a muscular/ skeltal doctor next month I wish you the best with your health

Hi i was reading your post I have a similar problem and this is my story have chest pain on left side of course i thought heart this has been going on for a little over a year i say two heart dr.'s had ekg, echo, reg stress and nuke stress test all came back fien also all kinds of blood work no highblood pressure I'm not over weight and my closteral is fine.  ct scan of the chest and many xrays of chest all are fine. I still have this pain and the one heart dr said it is all musculoskeletal I have been going to physical therpary, massage it helps but the pain never goes away . I asked if i could have cancer and my gp said no not with all the tests i had what do you think? Could this be my heart? I would appreciate any input you may have.  Maybe this is just musculoskeletal i just can't believe you could have so much pain and it not be serious.
Thanks boi1
