chronic pain bariatric patient

I am having problems with my spine ,hips, shoulders. just about every major joint is in pain. I have done the injections, physical therapy, surgery to repair bulging  disks. not a year after surgery and my disks are herniated again. I have stenos, and degenerative arthritis. because I have moved to another state I am having to go through the whole thing all over again. when the doctor says there is nothing else we can do for you what do you say ? I am 10 yrs post op bariatric.  a decision I made to save my life is know crippling me

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Therapy for degenerative spine can be conservative (non operative) and surgical (operative) management. Since your present predicament does not permit you for surgical management, you could try combination conservative therapy modalities to help with the pain. Therapeutic exercises to rehabilitate the spine (consult your doctor before initiating this). Try applying local analgesic creams. Place ice over the painful area every 1-2 hrs for pain relief. Use a collar/belt to support the spine.  Ensure to get the correct size.  You seem to be very anxious and in pain, take OTC pain medications like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen, take these medications after food. Other non operative therapies are ultrasound application, spinal traction, transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation and spinal injections. I would advise you to discuss various options with your doctor and initiate the right therapy for relief from pain.
