Venous insufficiency stasisStasis dermatitis and ulcers dermatitis is a skin condition that is caused by poor circulation in the legs. It can be difficult to treat. The general approach is to first try to correct the underlying problems causing the poor circulation. This could be due to poor heart function, blockages in the blood flow to the leg, due to poor blood return from the leg (i.e. post operative), and diabetes. Compression stockings and elevating the legs both day and night helps somewhat. A dermatologist may be able to give you more help if these measures fail to cause an improvement.
