Agree with Jim - you certainly need to bring these issues up with your doctor. They may be nothing but aging, but they could be associated w/ blockages as well so well worth discussing in full. You certainly need to be put on meds to lower your cholesterol (if you haven't been already), but you should also push for a referral to a cardiologist. I would imagine your symptoms warrant a nuclear stress test to check for ischemia caused by possible blockages. Good luck, and don't put this off.
Bring these issues up, for sure. These are pretty typical symptoms of blockages (PAD or coronary).
Yes, I had my cholesterol checked in June and the total was 296. Having it rechecked in October it had gone to 310. I am experiencing numbness in my lower legs and arms and have total fatigue, I fall asleep at work, talking with friends, riding in a car; if I'm not moving it's nothing for me to nod off.
I have an appointment with my doctor but want to know if I should bring these issues up with him or if they are just "regular" 55 year old complaints.
Do you have any personal concerns or is this a general inquiry? Might help better answer your question if you provide some info/details about your concerns regarding clogged arteries.
