my husband echo test shows he only has about 10-12 percent of heart muscle.  need to know what is the best procedure he  should be looking for at this time,  we are considering  Resynchronization, he has now a pacemaker/defibrillator, his symptoms at this time is mostly cough, shortness of breath on stairs, small inclines,  Do I take him to Cleveland Clinic for a different procedure and need to know what else is new there that would benefit him.  He is on  a  lot of medication and has done pretty well with them.  Heart affected  on  side, please advise

sisue,

Thanks for the post.

What your husband needs is a thorough evaluation.  Medicine has become advanced enough that we are often able to "tailor" therapy to fit the patient, as opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach.  Resynchronization therapty is good for some, but not others.  This approach really needs to be pursued at a large center with a lot of experience.

Seek counsel at a large center that you trust.

Best of luck.
