Are you taking any blood thinners?  If not, ask your doctor about taking an aspirin daily to see if that it okay for you.  I find that an aspirin 81mg daily keeps away my chest pains. Chest pains on the left side is usually angina and chest pains in the middle can mean plugged arteries.  If you are getting chest pains in the middle of your chest radiating out, down your arm, neck, jaw or in your back, see your doctor.
