coreg and foot pain

My father, Bill Low, has foot pain which he describes as nearly identical to that of the patient in your previous post, "Coreg and foot pain".  He too, has been to several doctors including an orthopedic surgeon, cardiologist and neurologist.  He has just begun Coreg for cardiomyopathy and the foot pain preceded this by many months.  I found it interesting however, that he has also taken every one of the medications, digoxin, vasotec, and lasix, which the previous patient listed.

I would be very interested in your opinion on this.  If possible, please pass my email address on to the person who first posted to this list about foot pain and Coreg so that we may compare notes.

I am not sure about the specifics of the previous post. However, I would not expect any of the listed medications to cause foot pain. The Lasix can lower the potassium and this can lead to muscle cramps. Coreg, in patients with severe periperal arterial disease, can further compromise the circulation. Patients with severe cardiomyopathy are also at risk for clot formation, which could lead to leg pain.
