OK I just ate out, we hardly ever do, and I ate pancakes and within 30 min I have a racing heart rate. I am very bloated feeling too. This seems to happen whenever I have a meal high in simple carbohydrates, breads, pastas. In fact it was so bad I quite having pasta and have tofu with my sauce. I seem to be able to have a slice of garlic toast okay but any more than that and my heart races. I have noticed this off and on for my adult life - is this a gluten issue?
I tested partially negative on Celiac. He said I had some of the cursors for it but not. So I never went full on a Gluten Free diet - but if I have to many I always get a racing heart. Still maybe a wheat allergy? If anyone has any ideas - let me know
I have been on a gluten free diet for three years and cheated a few months ago - eating birthday cake and a few other things every once in a while - and I was not well! Since - I have returned to my diet and have purposed to stick to it. The doctor also ordered a low residue diet. I am also lactose intolerant. My digestive system is still highly sensitive and I must watch carefully the amounts of food I eat. It works if I am careful and eat what I have prepared.
I read that those with A-fib should be on a gluten free diet - I have been but it hasn't stopped the A-fib from developing. I feel a gluten free diet is healthy - I dropped thirty pounds and have maintained my weight for a while now. It's worth a trial longer than a week. There are more gluten free products available to make life easier and sometimes tastier.
My sister-in-law has celiac. I remember her years of symptoms and every year it seemed another body system would have a problem.
I remember her heart symptoms started just after I had gone through my V-tach and cardiomyopathy so he went to the cardio and structure wise all was well. Long, long story short she stopped gluten and her symptoms went away bit by bit she got better. Here is a website about gluten issue.

Good luck.
