could this be related to heart

I am a 31 yr old woman. I got my blood test fasting:

Cholesterol: 201 (borderline high)
HDL: 40
LDL: 109
Tri glycerides: 261 (borderline high)
Cardiac CRP 3.9 (high)

Glucose: 98

About a month or so ago before I had the blood test, I had the flu and was sick, and doctor had given me prednisone and decongestant, I woke up at night with pain in left arm and palpitation, went to ER and ECG was normal. Later I got a resting echo done and was normal. But now after the blood test I am a little concerned if this episode may be due to the high triglycerides I have and may be borderline high cholesterol and related to the heart. Does anybody have such similar experience.
How can I decrease these levels. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rung

The high triglyceride and cholesterol reading should probably be a warning to you that in the future you could have problems with the buildup of plaque in your arteries.  Probably your doctor would recommend a more heart-healthy diet and exercise.  Conventional wisdom indicates that you can lower your total cholesterol level about 1/3 through diet and exercise.  Also, it's important to know the ratio of the LDL/HDL cholesterol.  HDL is the 'good' cholesterol and exercise raises that figure.  Weight loss also contributes to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels.  As the heart procedures indicated your heart is OK, I'd rest easy about that issue.

It sounds unlikely that it's related, but you really need to get those triglycerides down.
