Diastolic Dysfunction is becoming a fairly common finding in Echos, approx 29% will have it show up. There are three stages, did they tell you what stage you were, 1 being the mildest 3 the most severe? This is usually due to either a valve allowing some regurtitation or the walls of the left ventricle not relaxing enough to allow it to fill sufficiently. I had it on an echo 3 years ago and it was not on my last one in August 07. If they did not find anything more than mild/trace regurgitation or any wall motion issues it's not of much diagnostic value. I will just be watched every few years in most cases.

Good Luck.
