Hello.  My question is: if a person has tachycardia and there is a difference between radial pulse (155) and heart rate (110), what is that significant for?  Thanks, I am a nursing student and am learning about the heart.

I'm not even sure that is possible. I could see it being the other way around with heart rate higher than radial pulses due to the length of the pulsation having to travel. Plus blockages or buildups would slow it down along the way. I don't see how it could be this way though. maybe someone else can help. Good luck

I don't think that is possible.  It IS possible the other way around, for instance, if you have a ib.  The heart rate could be higher, even a lot higher, as not all the beats are strong enough to get *perfused*.  It is called a pulse deficit.
