Diffuse hypokinesis is not localized heart wall impairment.   Hypokenesis is heart wall movement impairment that may reduce the heart's ability to pump adequately...weaker than normal contractility.  The cause is usually due to occluded heart vessels that partially or completely block the blood flow and medically termed ischemia. Sometimes the heart cells can be revitalized when there is restoration of blood flow with a stent, medication or bypass of blockage..

Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions or commenst you are invited to respond.  Thanks for the question, take care,

Ken
