diuretics

by Brooklyn87, Apr 18, 2008 11:23AM
I appear to need diuretics but have heard they are risky for gout-prone old people Is there a possible substitute?  I have been limiting salt in my diet but am still accumulating fluid, interfering with breathing, walking, etc

This discussion is related to Gout flareup while on diuretic for arythmia?.

my father has not had any of these problems and he has been on them for at least 5 years and my 4 yea old was on lasix since he was 2 days old for a period of one year and never had a problem
good luck and ask your doctor about the risk of taking them. also ask a pharmacist they might be able to help
good luck
