Supraventricular means they're coming from outside the ventricles.  Yes, typically these are PACs.  I have these as well as supraventricular tachycardia, when the PACs get really out of hand.  I've had PSVT since my teens, so I'm just more prone to it.  Most people with PACs don't have supraventricular tachycardia.  Supraventricular beats can be a pain in the neck, but usually that's all.  Try to hang in there.  Nothing increases them quite like adrenaline!

I hope your appointment goes well for you, and puts your mind at ease.  I know what it is like to have this fear and worry.

My PACs and episodes of SVT can feel different and similar.  Typically the PACs can feel like a pause followed by a hard beat, or flutters, or I can get a few in a row, or sometimes a PAC every other beat (this is called bigeminy).  It depends on my heart rate, activity level, stress level, if I have eaten or not (skipping meals messes with blood sugar, which messes with adrenaline, which messes with your susceptibility to ectopics).

I do not take anything for them, my cardiologist says supraventricular extra beats are common and benign, and that for most people with them the medication's side effects are more bothersome than the extra beats.  Now, in the event you're having them extremely frequently or you're having episodes of supraventricular tachycardia that are sustained for several minutes or more, beta blockers are typically prescribed.  Often though if the beats are just bothersome enough to interfere with your quality of life, cardiologists will prescribe the beta blocker to give you some peace.

I'm not sure about S waves, but EKGs and Holters can offer up some wacky readings sometimes.  Let your doctor figure out if this is cause for concern.  If your only problem is the supraventricular ecoptics, you're in luck :)

Let us know how it goes!
