ecg vs stress ecg

Hi all - I'm 26 years old - male - during the last period of time I have been having random left arm pain and burning sensation in the very upper chest, jaws, ears, and sometimes chest pain. I was diagnosed as anxiety. I had echo, 3 ecgs and they came back normal, however I'm still concerned this could be from my heart.

I didn't go through a stress ecg and my cardiology says there is no need for that.

During my last ecg, the doctor asked me to climb the stairs in the hospital and then put afterwards into the ecg. He said this is for better diagnosis. I was showing hb 150 during the test.

My question - could this be a replacement or an alternative to the stress ecg? As far as I understand stress ecg are done to measure the heart during work load, and what I did was very similar, but with the normal ecg.

Do u thing I should still go for a stress ecg?

Thabk you

To determine coronary ischemia may require a stress test that involves vessel perfusion with rest and exertion.  An EKG doesn't provide an image of vessels as would a stress perfusion test. When both the exercise ECG stress test and the perfusion images are abnormal, the likelihood of coronary disease is greater than when only one of the tests is positive.

Hope this helps, thanks for the question, take care,

Ken
