echo questions

I have idiopathic cardiomyopathy and would like your opinion on these echo numbers. Ejection fraction-30%, LV internal dimension-diastolic-6.5cm-Systolic-5.3cm, LA Internal dimension-4.4cm. Wall Motion-score-49, segments-22, Index-2.2. I have dyspnea and extreme fatigue, and my doctor said I can't work, and I agree. I have put in for a disability but was denied, they feel these numbers are not severe enough?

Jade,

The echo numbers don't tell the whole story.  Some people with an EF of 30% don't have any symptoms; others are troubled terribly.  The dyspnea and fatigue are more germane to whether you should or should not be working.

The only comment that I can make about the numbers is that they show evidence of idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.

Hope that helps.
