i awas tested for this test on 15 October, 2012 following were opinion / diagnosis :-
ejection fraction 60 %
DILATED LA
NORMAL LV SYSTOLIC FUNCTION
THICKENED MV LEAFLETS WITH DIFUSE CALCIFICATION OF ANTERIOR MITRAL LEAFLET
SEVERE MS WITH 19mm Hg.
MVA 1.00cm2
PPG 28mmHg.
PAP 39 mmHg+ CVP
No CLOT.
NO PERICARDIAL EFFUSION

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The report shows severe Mitral valve stenosis. Therapy will be with balloon valvuloplasty or open heart surgery. The ejection fraction is 60%. The ejection fraction is a useful measure of left ventricular performance. The normal range is 63-77% for males and 55-75% for females. It reflects the pumping capacity of the heart. So, don't worry and discuss the options with your doctor.
