I am a 55yr old female. Normal weight. Have had a diagnosis of MVP for many yrs and did ok on corgard. Recent increase in murmur last 2 yrs , echo done. 2002 report didn't note any regurg.Most recent showed: Mild tricuspid regurg (1+ )with mild pulmonary hypertension, tr. mitral regurg. Pseudonormalized diastolic relaxation abn.Mild mitral annular calcification. EF 55% Ventricles and atriums normal sized/. Stress test showed 1mm st depression in 2,3,Avf and v4-v6. Cardiolite neg for ischemia. Question should I be concerned with these recent changes?
I notice I fatigue easier and sob on prolonged exertion and sometimes talking loudly. My cardiologist just mentioned the calcification and need for antibiotic now. Should I cont to just monitor , will this likely progress? I am most concerned with the pulm hypertension and the reason for this. If the Mitral valve is only mild then should I be investigating pulm source for cause of increased regurg and symptoms. I don't see my cardiologist for 2 months and got the report after the last visit so haven't had a chance to ask him all this. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Its difficult to comment on studies without being able to see them first hand.
Question should I be concerned with these recent changes?
Most of what you mention seem to be in the normal realm of reader variablity for the echo changes. Most likely all this indicates is that you should have periodic followup (ie..annual stress testing to see if there is any progression of your regurgitation). If you were to have increasing symptoms then you could be evaluated earlier.

Its impossible to say. With a normal EF, 1+ mitral regurgitation itself should really not be contributing to your symptoms. Again periodic followup of the valve is what we generally do for that amount of mitral regurgitation.

Elevated pulmonary pressures can be due to alot of factors. I would wait and discuss all of your findings with your cardiologist.
