echos, ecg. LVH and exercise

This is a question for the  doctors.    I have had  several ECG's  ov er a  7  year period  and the voltage  criteria for LVH is not met and the voltages  are more  or less  the same in all the ECGs  and yet one  echo  at the start of that period  say the  septum wall is   0.8mm and the second echo at the end of that period says  1.3 mm  then is  there any  basis for repeating the  echo ?
Other  aspects of the  echos  are fine    I have  an ejection fraction of 74 per  cent 7  years  ago, and the same now

I  do have an exercise history of daily    fast walks,  hill  walks, and cycle  riding fast, and was for  15  years a runner

I  just think it odd  that several ECG';s  during that time have produced (more or less)  identical  voltages, all under LVH  voltage  criteria

I have  before  and throughout this period been regarded as having either  white coat, normotension or borderline

I also have a resting pulse  of  56  and  I  think that  either  the  echo  LVH is  an isolated  error  or I may have a physiological hypertrophy from the training

Could the one echo be an error,  and could it be that I may have exercise  induced LVH  ?

There is no basis for repeating the echo. There is always some degree of variability in echocardiogram measurement.  Even if your septum measures larger on a repeat echo, it would not result in any change in management of your care. It sounds as if you are healthy, without symptoms, active, and not limited by shortness of breath. The most recent echo measurement of your intraventricular septum may have been spurious. LVH can be caused by hypertension, valvular heart disease, a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or the deposition of protein within the heart muscle as is the case with amyloid or sarcoid disease. Your best bet is to continue to stay active, and make sure your blood pressure stays in the normal range. There is no indication for a repeat echocardiogram at this time.

Thank you for the advice    I  am having problems with palpitations but they are being evaluated and overall  I think it unlikely that  a  septum wall of 1.3  would cause  this.
