electric sensation over the left side of my breast

electric sensation over the left side of my breast

I have a very slight case of MVP. I had a full stress test done about a yr ago. They called it border line. I'm 54, I take a beta blocker to keep away the palpitations. Recently I had a 4am "racing heart" went to the ER and of course nothing was found. It's been about 2 months without any other problems. Although now, while working out, sitting, walking etc, I get this strange electrical sensation that seems to start in the middle of my chest radiating towards my left breast. This has been going on for about 4 wks.  I do work out 5-6 hours a week. So thought perhaps I strained a chest muscle, but it's not going away. Should I seek a Cardiologist?

If this chest discomfort has not gone away yet, I would recommend you see a Cardiologist.  The electrical sensation you are describing is not typical for cardiac chest pain (angina), however angina can also present atypically sometimes.  In addition, if you have not had an echocardiogram in awhile to evaluate your mitral valve prolapse, I would also recommend this be done.  A stress test does not evaluate mitral valve prolapse and there is a chance if your mitral valve is 'leaky" that this could also be contributing to your symptoms.

Hope this helps.  Good luck!
