enlarged aorta with leaky valve

my wife of 44 years has anenlarged aorta or 4.9 after the cta scan that followed that angagram. she is haveing a lot of pain in her heart areais this normal? She is on  the patch 24/7and uses nitrospray several times a day . the doctor wants to opperate when the aorta reaches 5,it this a routene procdure or something that is very searious.being working on the hearanwhat kind of  valve do you think they would use? We are very nervice espceally scince she had so much pain. over her heart. She also has rumatoide arthritis will this couse some pain also. Scared
