PVC's only effect your workout if you worry about them during the workout.  I used to that, and run back to my car afraid I would drop deat until a Cardiologist told me "keep on exercising and ignore the PVC's"

Be careful what you read on message boards and on the Internet.  You will read at times that PVC's during exercise can be dangerous.  NOT so, if you have a healthy heart this is what the Cardiologist told me, and that was good enough for me.  I kept doing my exercise despite the PVC's and they got lett and less.  I now have them very seldom when I exercise, and if they come its usually because I am stressed out about something, or did not get enough sleep.  Caffeine doesn't bother me but I only drink two cups a day.

If you still worry get your PVC's evaluated by a doctor and once he tells you that you are fine you have to trust him/her and not worry about the PVC's anymore.  You will still hate them, and they will be uncomfortable, after all we do not like anything coming from the heart unless its a normal heartbeat and that is understandable, but you can lose the fear if you trust your doctor/cardiologist.

Thank you so much you have put my mind at eases. My Dr. told me he could put me on beta blockers but he didn't want to as they would make me feel crapy. I guess he figures my pvcs aren't bad enough, knock on wood, he said I would not drop dead, nicely put, he told me they are common and happen all day especially at rest but sometimes they make me feel weird and I think that is what scares me, anyway I do feel better when I do a good cardio workout so I guess I'll just keep in shape and lose my baby weight maybe, hopefully they get better. Thanks again.

i have suffered  frequent PVC's  on and off for several years with another episode the last few months. I have also embarked on training for a charity 5k run  and have noticed they are worse, could this be because my resting heart rate is lower thus 'allowing' more pvc's through? I am really confused and fed up with the symptoms as i thought exercise would help ie by reducing stress. Perhaps i should give it a bit longer before  giving up

Exercise may actually help :)  For some, it offers better control of the PVCs.  And your doctor sounds like a to-the-point kind of guy, I like that.  PVCs don't cause people to drop over, but they do make people think they will because they're so unpleasant feeling.  And yes, beta blockers do come with their own side effects.

Good luck with your workouts!  I'm addicted to Spark People myself :)
