About 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with hypertriglyceridemia. Nothing seems to work for very long.
Lopid never worked.
Tricor makes me have SEVERE mood swings. (Depression, suicidal, psycotic)
Zocor worked the best of the prescription drugs. But eventually, it stopped working too. I am now on 500 mg

Triglyceride level-1711, renal and hepatic panels-normal. I also have MS. Low carb diet (actually NO carb diet) works well but aggravates MS symptoms. High triglycerides run on both sides of the family. Heart disease also runs in the family, but most have lived to be a ripe old age. (With the excetion of my Grandfather, who died of cancer at 54). I do not eat excessive sweets, pasta or bread. As a matter of fact, most days I only eat one meal because of my busy schedule. Please help. My doctors are at a loss. I am open to experimental treatments, but the region where I live is excluded most of the time. Thanks.
