failed stress test and what next?

by helena7, Sep 17, 2008 10:30PM
I am a 50 year old woman with a history of family heart disease. My father pasted away at 54 and my brother recently at 53. My brother has not had any symptoms of angina or SOB. I went for a stress test and the test shows ascheamia in 2 leads. My Cholesterol was borderline so that I am taking simvastatin, BP higher but controlled with Bisoprolol. The doctor send me for the Nuclear medicine testing and it showed normal. However, I am SOB when I lean forward (putting a golf ball on a tee) I get SOB when I walk fast. I do not know if the little chest pain I have is related to the Angina? Now the doctor is reluctant to send me for an Angiogram.  The nuclear testing I done took pictures of my heart at least 30 minutes after the walk on a treadmill. Is that accurate you think?

A nuclear stress test is approx 85 - 90% accurate.
