Hi Obi,

Sorry to hear about your symptoms.  In all likelihood, everything is fine.  When people are afraid something is wrong, your mind can play tricks on you and make you worry.  It is almost like "mini-panic attacks."  There is no way to know for sure until the tests come back.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thanks for posting.

How old are you? What kind of tests did you have done? Blood tests too to check for thyroid? Thyroid problems can certainly produce those symptoms as well as other things too.

Hope you get some answers soon.

Hi im a 23 year old male with cardiomyopathy and I was just wondering if anyone got fluttery feelings in their chest, when u feel ur pulse it almost feels uncoordinated and quivery. makes u want to cough and when u do it goes but returns, I got this today and a few times before. when it goes u feel a pause and then it start beating as normal. Is this what atrial fibrilation is or could it be vintricular fibrilation. its really scary, any advice.

I doubt u are getting ventricular fibralation as likely you would not be alive. If anything you might be getting short runs of vtac which should be investigated asap. I would be getting a holter monitor done asap and follow with your cardiologist. Take care as I am not a dr so u should seek professional help.

Is vtac another name for nsvt (non specific ventricular tachycardia) because I have had a 3 day holter monitor done and they did find 1 run of 4 beat NSVT (4 of pvc's in a row)

Like everyone else on this forum, I also suffer from PVCs and PACs and have been for years.  I am 24 yrs. old with two children (a 4yr. old and a 4 month old). The PVCs have gotten really bad since the birth of my last baby four months ago.  Not only do I get the scary skipped beats around the clock, but I also notice that my heart starts thudding really hard in my chest and skipping right after I sit down.  Does anyone else experience this?  I've had the EKGs, echo, holter, and blood work done and can't seem to find anything.

Yes! I get that insane thudding in my chest when I sit down or lie down.  I have no idea what that is from.  Maybe sinus arrhythmia?  I'd like to hear from else anyone who may have it and knows what it is.

Yes, I have been getting that too!  Not all the time.  Seems to be when I lay down to rest.  I am wondering if it is stress/exhaustion related?
I have two kids (6 & 2) and am pregnant with the 3rd.  We are in the process of moving so I was thinking it might be stress.  I feel silly calling my cardiologist.

Sounds like it might be PVCs, which are common with cardiomyopathy - but you may have another more serious arrhythmia.  You should talk to your doctor about this soon if you have not yet done so.  It may be nothing to worry about, but it's best to be sure.

It sounds like anxiety may be the culprit if your heart checks out fine.  I've been through a lot of that, and it was anxiety.  I do have palpitations too, though they are benign, and they can be quite bothersome.  I hope you get some answers and feel better soon.

I'm 26 and I just started having alot of those symptoms myself. I've always been fairly healthy. I've run 2 marathons and 2 half-ironmans. Occasionaly my chest would start hurting or my heart rate would go sky high with or without exercise. I did a 3 mile run the other day, going slow, and my HR was up to 195, and walking down for 15 min I couldn't get it below 160. I went to the ER that night and got the whole ekg/xray/bloodwork/thyroid check and everything came out ok. I'm on Toprol now, and still have a dull ache in my chest... and it's worse at night. It looks like it's probably stress related, but I'm having a few more tests done to make sure.

I HAVE HAD THAT ALSO, I HAVE BEEN TO THE ER THREE TIMES WITH A RAPID HEART BEAT, LAST TIME IT HAPPEND WAS AT WALMART LOL.
I AM UNINSURED AND NO CARDIOLOGIST IN MY LITTLE TOWN WILL SEE ME ON ACCOUNT OF THE NO INSURANCE PART, I HAVE SIX KIDS AND A GREAT WIFE BUT VERY LITTLE CASH, THE DOC TOLD ME IT IS NERVES.
I SAW MY MEDICAL DOCTOR THE OTHER DAY AND HE TOOK SOME TESTS MY TOTAL CHOLESTROL IS 196 HE SAID A BIT HIGH BUT NOT TO BAD, HE THE BAD IS A BIT HIGH, AND THE GOOD IS A BIT LOW BUT MY TRIGLYCERIDES ARE GREAT.
SO NOW I NEED TO FIND A CARDIOLOGIST THAT WILL SEE ME WITH NO CASH UP FRONT, THE LAST ONE I CALLED SAID 800.00 UP FRONT.

I have those same symptoms also. I get a pounding sensation once in a while. I also sometimes get this weird out of body feeling right before i get like bigemy or something. Im 29, healthy, involved in Mixed Martial Arts, and Ultimate fighting. Ive had all teats imaginable, and still have a fear of being far from medical attention. It sucks because i love ATV riding, and hunting, but if i travel 3 hrs up north into the woods, i have one PVC, and look out, because i PANIC!!!  I get light headed from the panic attack, and immidiately think to myself "there is no medical help out here, im going to die now".  DDoes anyone else have a similar fear of being away from a hospital or medical attantion?

HELLO,
THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!!  I FIND MYSELF LOCATING WHERE THE NEAREST HOSPITAL IS WHEN GOING ON A TRIP.  MY HISTORY IS MVP, SVT, HAD 2 CARDIAC ABLATIONS OVER THE SUMMER AND AM NOW HAVING MORE PVCS/PACS THAN I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE - COUPLE TIMES A MINUTE MOST OF THE DAY.  IN FACT IT HAS KEPT ME FROM GOING A LOT OF PLACES OVER THE SUMMER. THE SKIPPED BEAT-ANXIETY-PANIC ATTACK IS A VICIOUS CYCLE... I AM CURRENTLY TAKING ATIVAN FOR THE ANXIETY IT CAUSES. I DON'T BELIEVE MY ANXIETY CAUSES THE SKIPPED BEATS, IT IS THE HORRIBLE FEELING THAT CAUSES THE ANXIETY!  GOOD LUCK AND HANG IN THERE!

HI,

sorry about the caps, you think you are stressed, I also take Ativan at times, but until I get a stress test I am very worried
about these crazy symptons, is a total cholesterol of 196 ok,
my wife thinks I am nuts.
Having no Insurance is enough to get anyone stressed, but to have a three Cardiologists refuse to see you because you are uninsured is real bad, I will say this much I am voting Democrat next time.
My kids at least get medicaid all six of them.
It seems I might have to go to my home state of NYC to get treated they seem to want to help people more there, or maybe in California.
Here in Danville Virginia they dont seem to want to help me, I am sure if I was insured I would of had every single test there is by now, I have also lost thirty pounds and am watching what I eat.
Today I did my blood pressure at Walmart it was 133 over 79, then I did it again and it was 120 over 70.
Now I know why folks want universal healthcare.

Hi Stuart, I can truly empathise with you concerning the lack of medical help for those of us who do not have medical insurance. I live in Ireland and Im in the same predicament as you. I am living with heart problems which severely restrict my life, and though I will eventually get medical care, I have to WAIT for a very long time to get that help, anything from 7 months to over a year!!! Also  people like me ''poor'' are not treated as well as far as 'respect' and 'courtesy' are concerned, and we wait for hours in very long queue's for this treatment!!!!!!  Good luck with your search for help !!!!!!!

I also locate the nearest Hospital!!  I get directions from Mapquest, then find the nearest Hospital to my destination. If its only a few miles away, i seem to do pretty well. I hate so much that these run my life, and its so short to begin with!

HI,
THE INSURANCE ISSUE SEEMS VERY FRUSTRATING!! I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE DECENT INSURANCE BUT THE PROBLEM FOR ME SEEMS TO BE GETTING AN ANSWER AS TO WHY I FEEL SO LOUSY.  I AM HAVING MY CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION TOMORROW AM.  I THINK THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO WITH ME!! THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING FOR ME HAS BEEN THAT ALL OF THESE PALPITATIONS, SKIPPED BEATS, CHEST PAIN HAVE CAUSED MY ANXIETY BUT THE DOCS ALL WANT TO BLAME IT ON ANXIETY!!! TO BE HONEST WITH YOU I CAN RECALL MANY TIMES IN THE PAST THAT I WAS UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE AND DID FEEL ANXIOUS BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE CARDIAC SYMPTOMS.  STUART - I AM SURE YOU HAVE CHECKED THIS OUT , BUT IN YOUR STATE - ESP. WITH 6 KIDS - ARE YOU NOT ABLE TO GET EVEN HOSPITAL COVERAGE??  I'M FROM PA - IF SOMEONE GOES IN HOSP. WITHOUT INSURANCE THEY CAN APPLY FOR TEMPORARY MEDICAID COVERAGE - SURELY WITH 6 KIDS YOU COULD GET SOME HELP.  MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU, I HOPE YOU COME UP WITH A SOLUTION.  I HEAR PRESIDENT BUSH PLEDGED BILLIONS MORE OVER WHAT WAS ALREADY BUDGETED TO REBUILD IRAQ?? MAYBE WE NEED SOME OF OUR TAX DOLLARS TO GO IN ANOTHER DIRECTION??  ALTHOUGH SUZZIE FROM IRELAND - YOUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SEEMS TO NOT TO BE SATISFACTORY BY ANY MEANS.. I HOPE ALL GOES WELL FOR YOU , TOO.  WAITING MUST BE AWFUL AND NERVE WRACKING.  MNJOHN -  GLAD TO HERE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS BECOME NEUROTIC OVER MY CARDIAC SYMPTOMS!!!!!
KEEP IN TOUCH ALL.  IT IS COMFORTING TO HEAR FROM OTHERS IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS.  TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS.......

In the state of Virginia a man cant get any Social Services unless he is homeless, and if he is homeless they put you in jail from what I understand.
But the ER says if it is life threatening they will do what they have to do, so what they are saying is my condition is not a threat to my life.
It might be next week or next month but not now, so dont change the oil in the car until the engine blows up.
I use the above as a example.
As I said in one of my other posts I will be Voting Democrat next time.
And the comments of the ER staff regarding Indigents bugs me too.

Oh well I will keep plugging on, I did take an Ativan last night, I slept great.

Hello all you worried people,
I would just like to reason with you a little bit.  I'm not a doctor, but I do have a few years under my belt and I pay attention... My wife has been plagued with all these symtoms (symptoms) for many years.  She has been to the "doctor" many times, done all the tests, (more than once), worried and worried and lost lots of her life to this paralizing fear of her heart quitting. My advice to you all is to get consistent exersize almost every day (start slow and work your way up) don't drink too much, you need to sweat to get the bad stuff out of your body, don't use anti-persperant (we're supposed to sweat), the heart is a muscle so use it and strengthen it, quit worrying, think about good things not the bad things, if you don't have any good things to think about then make some happen.  And control that caffeine intake, it can build up to unhealthy levels and cause you to have panic attacks.  Now get out there and live...

hi everyone great to read everybodys comments, i am wondering if anyone can help me, when i was 28 i had an ecg because i kept complaining of missed beats in my heart so i had a chest xray, heart scan, 24hr tape done, the results was i had ectopic heart beats, then when i was 29 i started to suffer sress and i had anxiety, my doctor wanted to put me on antidepressants, but i didnt want to go on them, every time i went to the doctors my heart rate was 110/ 115bpm it was a really bad time, i was scared when my heart was going fast and that brought the anxiety on which made my heart go faster, i went private to see a cardiologist and he listened to my chest done an ecg, heart scan, 24hr tape, it all came back normal, but now i am 32 and i still get anxiety now and again, what gives me it is i can always feel my heart beating, and if it feels like it is beating abit faster than normal i will get anxiety, and sometimes i will get a thud feeling in my heart which i am wondering what it is? at rest my pulse is 61/71, i am wondering whether i need another checkup on my heart or do you think having 2 heartscans is enough, i am really worried.any comments
