I monitor my blood pressurePressure ulcer at home and have been concerned with the wide variations I see. I also have a heart arrythmia that seems to be getting progressively worse with time. PVC's went from 1400 in 24 hours to over 3200/24hrs in one year.
I have not been too concerned with that as what I've read indicates that it's some thing I'll just have to live with. I would like to find out if this needs to be treated or not.
Today I awoke at 4:30 to answer the call of natureNature-throid Natures tears and while up took my blood pressure and it was fine (123/79). I took the Diovan at 6AM as usual and was fine until about 8:45 when I started experiencing discomfort in my chest which felt like my heart was turning flips inside me. I took my pressure and it was 147/90 and my pulse rate was 124. I called the Dr. and heard back from his nurse around 1:30PM. By then my pressure was down to 132/82 and the pulse rate was 89. She took every thing down and said she would get back to me. The return call was disconcerting to me as I was advised the Dr. said to stop monitoring my blood pressure at home and come to the office if need be. Was told to start the Cardizem again and if necessary over the weekend to call whomever was on call for help.
My questions are many, but mainly want to know if what has been advised so far seems reasonable, or do I have some thing to be concerned about.
I know that individuals blood pressure go up and down during a 24 hour period, but I try to monitor mine at rest and under circumstances that are the same each time to get as true a reading profile as possible. Mine have routinely been all over the chart. Why is my question?
Also what concern is the Arrythmia? How bad does it have to get to warrant intervention of some kind. And what is usually the treatment for it?
Any helpful information will be greatly appreciated.
