fluid causes

About two months after I had a pace maker put in, I started to be very short of breath. I struggled with this for a couple of months before seeing a doctor.  Fluid was compressing my lung.  I had thoracentesis and they drew out 1100ccs of fluid.  Fluid was tested but nothing was found.  I wonder if there is a relationship between the pace maker and the fluid build up.

Yes, a properly functioning pacemaker improves the transfer of blood/oxygen throughout the body. This helps the body to function efficiently and avoid dangerous heart failure complications such as kidney failure and fluid buildup in the lungs and elsewhere.

Wasn't there a diagnosis at the time of your thoracentesis?  Are you on a diuretic or other medications?
