gall bladder removal on plavex

by lilbeeje, Jan 08, 2009 11:28PM
I am desperately worried about a friend.  He recently had a stent put in (2wks ago) and now has gall stones and needs surgery.  Doctors are trying to figure out their options as there are very few surgeons who would take on this kind of risk... what are his options if any?  He is on antibiotics as well as anti inflamitory meds because his liver and pancreas are inflamed and a stone is blocking a bile duct.

Is your friend's heart very weak?  Trying to figure out the risk.  My friend had gall stones and she had a shunt put in and didn't have to go through major surgery.  Her pancreas were inflammed and stomach swollen.  She was on baby food for about a month, I believe.

Actually no, his heart is fine. No issues there now.  The doctors, from I gather, are concerned that something may rapture.  Like I said he has a blocked bile duct as well.  However, only his liver enzymes haven't come down.
