ginko biloba and metoprolol

will taking metoprolol with ginko biloba cause any adverse effects?  I am currently taking metoprolol for my blood pressure and i am not sure whether or not i can continue taking ginko biloba concomitantly.  please help

I am not aware of a specific interaction between the two, but you should realize that no one really studies such interactions ahead of time; only once there have been a series of adverse interactions reported is it widely known there can be a problem. Thus, I do not recommend such supplements for people taking any prescription medications.
