We've had a couple of these in my family. It usually means the child has a small hole in their heart, known as a Septal Defect. Some need to be closed surgically, some don't need closed, just watched. Outlook is usually excellent with proper treatment either way.

Of those in my family, one of them needed surgical repairing and the others did not. Everyone is doing excellent with absolutely no complications and all are well into adulthood now.
My brother had it when he's small. Dr said give him a lot of fish oil. His one closed by itself. Now he is 39, no health problem yet.
