I can tell you just based on your description whether or not this is serious or trivial.  Chest pain either left or right sided may indicate a dangerous process either in her heart or lungs, and should see her primary physician and/ or seek out emergency room care if you have these and don't feel well.

You should always get chest pain checked out, even though what you describe does not sound like it is cardiac in nature, but I'm not a doctor. It's not worth taking a chance so go see someone and gets some peace of mind.

One thing to consider, right sided chest pain is also very common with gallbladder disease, that was the case with me. You can also feel it in your right shoulder and is generally felt at the botom of you rib cage on the right side. It can also be felt in the center of the chest at times as well. Before we looked at the galbladder I went through the test to rule out heart problems, that is something you really should do to be safe. After that, check out the gallbladder, I had mine checked, it was bad, had it out a week later and been great since.

Good Luck.

My hubby has reminded me that women are dying of heart disease!  What a shame....My hubby works for Volcanco and they are doing the best to promote HEART disease prevention in women and men!

My hubby works for Volcano...yet he remnds me that WOMEN are dying of cardiovascular disease more than men. (52% vs. 48%)  I did look it up.

I walked for breast cancer three years ago....I think we should walk for breast cancer.  Then set up a new cause....cardiology issues.  You guys know Volcano and hopefully me.

I have asked Volcano to support the Ronnie Fletcher Foundation . Robert lost his best friend Ronnie, due to a widow maker a few years ago.  Robert and I would like to fund the Ronnie Fletcher foundation.  Robert and I would support a $1,000.00 scholarship w/out Volcano or with their contribution.  I don't want to ask the cardiologist support for this...but I have NOT received any help/support from Volcano,

Blazie - I'm not sure you're supposed to mention businesses and promote causes here. I understand your frustration though. I think part of the reason women die often from heart problems, heart attacks in particular, is because their symptoms are so different from men. Too often we don't have the movie style heart attack - clutch your chest in pain and collapse. We might feel tired, a bit of nausea or just don't feel quite right. Fortunately, there are many studies being done now on women specifically.

I also do the Race for the Cure on behalf of my many friends. But did you know that in February there is Go Red For Women? Feb. is heart month and there is a time devoted to women's heart health and educating women on what to look for. So don't be dismayed. Progress is being made.
