?heart attack

hi about 4 weeks ago i experienced severe chest pressure that radiated to my left shoulder after a minute or so.  i was driving home from my sisters house. about 5 minutes after the pain started i began vomiting.  the pain began to ease after about an hour but remained in my shoulder for a few hours. a little history: my father had a stroke at 40, i have diabetes (on metformin), have svt and afib and castlemans disease.  i didnt put together what was happening at the time, but experienced chest tightness going up the stairs this weekend and now im wondering if this sounds like a heart attack and if it is ok to wait until friday to see my dr.

You should follow with your doctor and soon.  This needs to be evaluated. My advice is to go to the ER is the chest pain and pressure returns and not wait until Friday. Just my  opinion.  Take care, Ally

Your symptoms can be heart related.  It may not have been a heart attack, but it could have been an insufficient supply of blood to heart cells with exertion of going up a stairway.  Sometimes that can cause heart cell damage so you should see a doctor to have an exam to rule out out anthing serious which appears you have already done.

It is difficult to know whether you should wait or have an immediate evaluation...I would call the dotor's office and ask for advice.

Thanks for sharing, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take care.
