what do you call the disease in the heart that includes holes in it?

Has anyone had a 3 cm hole fixed .and with which procedure. Pls help

At first I thought you had started another post with the same questions:).  The question regarding name can be PFO and that refers to hole that should close normally at birth.  The hole was used pre-birth to enable the mother's respiratory system for needed supply of blood to the developing child.

Other holes can be the result of an aneursym in the wall (septum) separating the lower chambers or the wall for the upper chamber wall.
