I have mild to moderate aortic srenosis. I was on 80mg of inderal for three
years. My max HR at execise was 110. Two weeks ago my Doctor took me off
Inderal and said I would see a increase in my max HR;so far it has not
happened. I get the same slow down effect at about 105 to 110. I walk 50
miles a week,but can not get my pluse up over 110. The ony other heart med
I am on is Monophrill. Is my valve getting worse. Thank You.

Dear George
The Inderal is out of your system. Therefore, you cannot get your heart rate up because of one of three reasons:
1. You are more out of shape now than previously.
2. Your heart’s conduction system is diseased.
3. The aortic stenosis is worse and is limiting your ability to exercise.
