heart rate vs. pulse?

In reading some of the questions, they are mentioning heart rate and pulse rate, are they different?  Also, I read that Atenolol only controls an arrhythmia and that dr.s usually do another holter to make sure it (the medicine) is working.  I haven't had another holter, at least not yet, and I know my pulse is still all over the place, but I haven't caught it higher than 112. It goes from 60 - 100 (which I know is still normal) just watching t.v.  What I am concerned about, especially, is since I didn't know I had IST (SVT), could it be going higher and I am still not aware of it?  Should I just trust that the medicine is working since I "feel" better or should I ask to have a holter test (I would hate to ask)?

Jan,

Pulse and heart rate a generally the same and for your purposes should be considered so.  As far as the holter if you are feeling well, i wouldn't worry about another holter.  just routine check ups should suffice.
