heart related issue

I m a 24 year old,i was having a chest pain i consulted a doctor ,he conducted a diagnosis and as a pre assumption he asked me whether i have any kind of palpitation wen i either go up the steps ,so i told yes ,he told me that his diagnosis reveals that there is a shift in one of my vavle and it is nothing to worry in future .i just want to know whether he is saying is right
and also i used to smoke
